Im a bit new to this mig , glueing metal together with
molten wire magic. My day job is joinery .but im enjoying learnog to do it in tin. MGB GT to attack when the confidence builds. So I am looking for some pointers to help .
1 my car is waxoiled allover so what do I need to do welding repairs solid and good.
2 sealy 150 mig gas co2 any recomendation on settings , wire speed , amps , or difrent gas, would be a good help as a start.
3 Do I need to remove battery , fuel tank etc, or just disconnect the battery.

Hi & welcome the the world of wizardry.

Best advice I can give is to read the MIG tutorials in the forum section(s) and go from there. Find some scrap metal and practise laying beads, doing joints etc..... I'm a beginner myself, so ask me how I know.

For 1) clean back to goo, sound, bright metal before attempting patches etc. 2) Many managed perfectly adequately with pub gas [ CO2] but I've found Argoshield gas from the BOC Volkszone offer to give better results - more expensive, but worth it imo. 3) really depends where the repairs are [and I suppose how extensive] whethe fuel tank/lines need disturbing, same for battery With the B you'd just need to disconnect the battery, due to lack of modern black box electrocins - a bonus!

There is no harm in taking off the negative terminal on any car before welding just to keep it in habit. It's usually the ones with ECU's that maybe at risk. Just make sure you've got the radio code to hand.
Regard your job. Welding on rusty thin car bodies out of position while laying on the floor is one of the most challenging things you could face with a mig plant. Your sealy is certainly up for the job but are you???
Lots of practice required here. Starting with simply laying down beads. Then onto joints, then put those joints out of position, then do it laying on the floor with your non dominant hand. After all that you might be up for the job. Regarding fuel tank if you feel your pretty close to it and not comfortable about it then take it off. Pull up any carpets that might be effected also.
Co2 is ok (better than gasless) but it does produce a much hotter weld than an argon mix. With your desired task the heat is your enemy and you want to reduce it in anyway you can.

And certainly more flexible. You can fill a gap with weld and hide it pretty well. I don't think it's quite so easy to hide a badly gapped hung door.

Well oxy welding all that is a hard job so I've no doubt you'll manage fine with a mig. Difference is the speed at which things happen. You've got time with oxy to stop or fill etc. mig you can be through it in a second. I would say you'll prob find the mig easier after a few splats to see what your dealing with.

If the darn thing is Waxoiled you have another problem "FIRE"
To clean the WO is a beast!! you start welding metal gets hot WO runs Fire (Wallace The body man) was a real fire raiser you really need a watcher with a CO2 extinguisher
