Metropolitan police scam

Hello all
Has anyone been infected with the above scam? Takes over your desktop and locks your pc down although you can open in safe mode. Daughter was in fashion website and it took over.
Ive norton anti virus but apparently it paralyses it first and no anti virus can stop it.
It tells you uve been locked down after downloading music illegally, watching child porn or indecent websites. It uses ukash for you to pay the fine of £100, the money goes to a bank in Germany but the lock stays on.
Apparently there lifting 10k a day all over europe.
Google it if you want more info, it looks very real.
My laptop is off to a computer analyst tomorrow to have it removed, tried tips on google but to no avail.

2 rite i have just fixed it though its not a virus its a programme just use go back 3 days and it disapears swich comp of by the plug then plug back in start up in safe mode

just vista i went in to controll pannel pressed admin tools then backup and restore it went back 3 days and its ok now

I had it on XP , open windows in safe mode started program Malwarebytes and removed it , simples

Happened to me this morning as well, I have Microsoft security essentials and had to run a full scan to remove it. Gave it another scan this afternoon nothing showed up so I must be ok hopefully.

I've had this same malware three times now on the same Vista machine.
Each time I have followed different instructions to remove the program and it looked good, but the crap came back a few days later.
Beware.

Ive tried all night to remove mine and cant, wont let any spyware run. Tried system restore to a week previous but its still there . Just phoned the guy im leaving it to tomorrow and he said the scammers are upgrading the scam every day, it moves and can change its name and its only a matter of time till they make one thats terminal to the computer. b*****ds

Its can be got on any website, its just luck if you miss it but getting more popular.
