Ok all this M4 M6 etc confuses me a little.
Anyone got a chart to show what diameter length etc each one represents?
I found one or two on google but they make no sence to me
cheers
Even more easy to remember is that:Ok all this M4 M6 etc confuses me a little.
All this is soooo much easier than using Whitworth sizes, which bear absolutely no relation to the real size, which is worked out as the square of the hypotenuse under the curve made when flicking a regular sized bolt out of a porridge bowl, with an egg spoon.
That depends on the head. Normal heads: length is without head, countersunk heads: length includes the head!A typical bolt size would be M12 x 70 for instance, so 12mm dia x 70mm long, not including the head.
It makes more sense than metric, you need a spanner labelled 13mm for an 8mm bolt.
