Whenever I've done this, I have taken SWA from a switchfuse at the beginning to an isolating switch at the remote end, then tails from the isolator to the DB. It adds a few quid to the cost, but it makes it easy to terminate the SWA properly and you can easily (and reliably) isolate the DB when you need to work on it.

We had one plonker turn up to a building site and demand a 30ma rcd be fitted to the main board, when I said the tower crane won't work on that he just quoted a load of ******** about a domestic installation and refused to connect.
Next one turns up and didn't say a word! They are a law to themselves and need reigning in by the government.
