I have an issue with mismatching paint. It’s only noticeable under LED light. Im thinking it could be down to excessive heat being generated when cutting and polishing the paint with farecla G3. Likewise maybe the polishing could have been done too early, resulting in a reaction and permanent damage?
I have however noticed that the colour of the basecoat in the cans seems to differ. The really old basecoat I have a spot of left, is darker than the others. The very dark basecoat I have and a more blue looking one are both from the same company. I’m going to take both of their cans back to them and see what they think.
Metallics seem to look the same and colour looks ok until you hit it with a light.
Luckily I’m going to be re painting these panels because I got way too much dry spray in my clear coat when I had a go before. Found out too late that I wasn’t keeping a wet edge. Had to slow the gun right down to get a wet edge. I bought a better gun for laying my clear. The Devilbiss FLG5. The gun, which the Gunman on YouTube recommended as the bare minimum for spraying the exterior panels of a car. Nothing cheaper, as in his opinion, they don’t give good results.
Anyone else had this blueing?
Thanks
