That looks more like polyester foam

Try mixing a bit of potassium hydroxide with methanol and see if the foam dissolves in it... Sodium hydroxide wont work, it isn't ionising enough
If it does it's polyester, never seen that used for underlay, only in packing

Sorry i haven't got the packing sheet any more the foam came from Bauhaus a german B&Q equiv in spain. So it will be german in origin if that helps It definitely used as an underlay for laminated wooden floor they also do thinner 1.5 and 2mm and I'm sure I've seen similar in the UK
