Been there too, house bashing. Wouldn't go back to it either!

They won't be as good as brand name but for diy use rather than trade they should be fine. I've used them before and they have been okay. I've also had the brass nuts pull out of brand name boxes too, although it's probably less common.

some dry lining boxes can either be very hard to click in the lugs, neigh on impossible to remove without destroying, or the lugs dont stay firm enough in place to screw into. Also the brass inserts can pull out easily on the cheaper ones.

I "house bashed" for 10 years, and have deep hate for any dry ling box that isnt Appleby, some are better than others though. They will all likely work

I agree with Al Strachan the ProPower ones are not nice, would and do pay the extra 10p per box to get Appleby

Part of my workshop has trunking and then some has moulded boxes externally. The new section has all new external plastic boxes, I didn't want the faf of running wires behind walls/ceilings so Gaz has made trunking from timber and mdf to run in wall/ceiling corners.

its timber and osb boards for the trunking kept to 4" x 2" so dosnt look out of place

those plasterboard backboxes are horrible to use and work with

In mates sheds i have fitted pvc back boxes, They are quite flexible and have you can get ones that have plastic conduit knock outs. google pvc pattress
