The dash on my Saab has been in and out several times. Not too many wires fortunately. There are 4 long bolts of different lengths that hold it in and if you forget the order the bolts go back in you're stuffed.
I happen to have this in the garage, its of no use to me,I got a couple of other small jobs done today. Replaced the dud automatic antenna for a new one along with proper seal. Bedded in black sika and excess wiped off to ensure water can't get in there

Tested and working. Very 80's!
The radio wiring is all a mess so ill basically be rewiring the lot. The Blaupunkt head unit in the car I thought was original but im not so sure anymore. Its very basic and maybe too new.

There are also Blaupunkt speakers and a CD changer in the boot which would have been dealer fitted when the car was new. But since this is not the original dealer fitted radio I may go for a modern unit with Bluetooth etc that still looks period. Like a Continental brand head unit.

Im sure FM broadcast will also be turned off at some point in years to come. So DAB would make sense. I am not sure if a regular power antenna works with DAB though? Or would that require a separate antenna hidden in the car and leave an auto antenna there for aesthetics.

Brand new although the box is a little battered...
Yours for postage
You're welcomeYes that would be fantastic thank you, I have several MBs that take this type of antenna so it will certainly get put to use. Ill send you a PM
One thing that first looked like a minor issue is turning out to be a larger issue due to NLA parts
The heater control slider switch was broken apart in the dash and bits fell out.

It clearly hasn't worked for many years but obviously I want / need to fix it or have no blower motor.
I found 3x of the 4x small contacts within the carpets. I need to keep looking and see if I can find the last small part and carry out several repairs on this switch. Not ideal but it is NLA and used ones are expensive

Im also trying w201 / 190 breaking adverts to see if I can buy a used one at a non Ebay price!! On the rare chance that anyone has a useful lead on a 190 parts car let me know.
Instead of paying the £170 ish for a used switch after alot of messages one guy sold me a complete and faulty one for £40 posted. On his its just the last section that sticks. One thing that first looked like a minor issue is turning out to be a larger issue due to NLA parts
