it was new and I hadn't seen one before cant even remember how much it was . only ever used it once . I only buy new if I cant get mint second hand

The bush is only for back gear. I had my lathe about 20 year and never oiled that bearing.

Took me a while to find the right picture but I was reminded of this whilst watching Tubalcain's video on lubricating the 9" Southbend, which has similar oil point on the flat belt pulley so perhaps not so unusual.

Very intresting. Especially with different oils for different parts on the machine. Thanks for sharing.

I have a full set of eclipse tap handles like the one spencer was using. I love em for difficult access use with smaller taps. The handle can be made to slide so you can tap with a partial obstruction. They are not much good for 1.75 pitch or above where you need some leverage.
