My S class merc has a pipe from the engines cooling system that passes through the washer bottle as a heat exchanger and soon sorts out the frozen water and blasts the screen and lights with hot water...Great idea which i often wonder why it cant be used on a lot of cars. I have a injector on my Cabstar that leaks down over night and you should see and hear that engine on these cold mornings sounds like one of those old Deltic locomotives on a cold start

Funny you should link the 37 starting, I watched that video only a few days ago. The class 50s take minutes on end to start.
The gf’s freelander not so lucky this morning in -12 in fife, it didn’t go

Many years ago when I did dry stone walling we were working near Brize Norton and the radio was very excited that they had posted the temperature as minus 19. a record of some kind. I was less excited as the boss thought we should be working, despite the temp and the 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground. He turned up with the burner from his hot air balloon and a huge gas bottle and warmed up the stone pile for us, bless him. I picked up a couple of stones and held them against the side of the wall and they stuck there... Bosses brother turned up and asked where the other waller was so I told him he had gone to the post office for an ice cream.

Do they have a Lister or similar or a great big starter motor? How big would the battery need to be?

It's a customers car for work and Mot. If I was minted then a Lightweight would be my choice I might be buying a Dax Cobra if the stars align this year, it belonged to a good friend who died a couple of years ago from MND. Not something I really want as I have been spoilt now driving the real ones!
