Meddings Pillar Drill

Just spotted this on eBay 250162436883 unfortunately it would cost too much to post to Ireland


Now this is what I call a drill 150157004824

The meddings is an excellent drill, got one from ebay at £35, just needed a new chuck and a coat of paint. It does'nt bend when you drill a hole unlike the cheap crappy imports.

That column is solid and *very* heavy.

The Arboga, well what can you say apart from i want one !

I have a meddings procera in the garden hanging round until I find a use for it, thing to watch is theyre not MT spindled unless they were ordered with it as a optional extra. Which limits their functionality a bit...
Its in the garden cos i got a equally old brown that IS MT tapered and therefore much less of a ornament, and a Cinncinnati with a rise and fall head.
The mad thing is I do most of my drilling in the mill now anyway...

Nah! teehee I was lying through my teeth . That's in the workshop at Bressingham steam museum (while the extended family played on the dodgems I sneaked off and got chummy with the engineer)
