Hey everyone,
First of all, a solid disclaimer; I know that a drill press is not a mill.
But I've come to peace with it since a) I don't do much milling and what I do is light duty b) I don't have space/time/money for a mill and c) the Meddings uses angular thrust bearings, just like a real milling machine. And so...
The Meddings M4 drill press I bought was fitted with crossslides to give it milling capabilities. As part of the rebuild, I replaced the lower gearbox oil seal which had been leaking. The 24mm ID seal with integral spring seemed to work really well for about 2 months, but I've noticed that it's now ******* out oil and the only thing I can think is that it happened after I did some milling with it.
Is there another kind of oil seal I could use for this task?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
All the best,
Dax.
