Where would I be able to find information on suspension mounting point measurements. My front left wheel sits further back in the arch than the right and the tracking can't be done. The car is an '87 Toyota AE82.
I sugget you look on a site by the name of rollaclub.com
very helpful people that should be able to sort out your question and alot of other stuff aswel.
a simple check is to get the car up as high as possible on a flat surface, and using a plumbob, mark points on the floor. From suspension pick up points and chassis points left and right. You need to basically check that both sides match, and where they do not, why not. It could be that a suspension wishbone or suchlike has been installed incorrectly or that there has been accident damage. The actual dimensions do not matter, just that they are equal within 1 to 2mm
Put the car on a flat surface and drop plumbobs and mark where they hit the floor as Alec says. Move the car away and draw diagonals from one side to the other. If the chassis is true they should intersect on the centreline.
You have pick symmetrical points, for example LH wishbone to RH rear spring mount, RH wishbone to LH rear spring mount. The more you draw the more accurate picture you get.
