I see a number of threads on this subject but I have a slightly odd problem.
Bought a 250A AC/DC TiG which trips the breaker when you switch it on at the main unit front panel. However if you switch it on at the breaker, it doesn't trip.
Aha. Easy. The front panel switches both live and neutral, the MCB only switches live so I rearranged the switch so that neutral is "always on" and the main panel only switches the live. And it still trips!
I will check my phases to make sure neutral isn't crossed over somewhere but lets assume all is correct in the wiring. What could be happening here?
Screwd.
