you could also look at any lighting relays, pull them out and look for arcing on the connections

you should be able to sit in the car and mess with the light switch when its dark to try and replicate the fault

you might have to put up with it while it develops, that's the problem with those type of faults unless you just want to guess it and throw your hard earned cash at needless parts

And even then, after replacing anything and everything you can think of, it may still have the fault which turns out to be something so silly and simple but either hidden or just missed. Replacing parts is no guarantee of nailing the problem!
