im after a piece of 6 inch or 150mm alloy tube 170mm long so i dont want to have to buy in a length for the small bit i require to make a fuel swirl pot , does anyone know of a supplier local to me that may have this in stock and sell me a small bit?

From memory 6" doesn't exist in wall thicknesses less than 10swg. Aluminium Warehouse used to sell short sections but not so much nowdays, looks like you'd have to buy 2.5m from them although worth giving 'em a call if/when you have a ring around other stockholders. Dunno if they'd do it for tube but my local Aalco will cut what you need when it comes to barstock above 3" or 4" dia IIRC

I keep upto 4" 16swg tube and for stuff larger (dry sump tanks etc) than that roll it out of sheet. If 4" would be acceptable i can cut a chunk, postage will probably cost more than the tube though!

cheers mate but it has to be at least 150 mm to suit the customers requirements and also has to take a motorcycle fuel pump up inside it i will give aalco a call and see if they can help
