No, it's worth finding a generic filter, main dealers charge mega bucks.cant you just order an oem filter from the main dealer ,,, those wee engines are used in all sorts of things , both 2 and 2.2 versions.
depending if there actually is an equivalent , against something that fits , on vertical down filters I dont worry too much , but upside down or side ways I tend to get fussy , oil return prevention is what bothers me ,,No, it's worth finding a generic filter, main dealers charge mega bucks.
How much is an engine ? when you put that sort of cost against down time , or a daily work rate it pales into nothing ,, I used to think oem parts were dear , these days I just buy the real thing and know that it meets spec it all gets charged on to the end customer any way .Cumming$ were charging us 60 € for a 15€ filter.
Trying to get an oil filter replacement from my local factors, the closest they have is 15mm shorter (85 instead of 100),the thread and diameter are identical, yet I don’t know if the relief valve is equivalent pressure,is this critical? Thanks.
I can’t remember on what, so this post is semi irrelevant, but I ordered a oil filter for something once and it came with fuel filter written on it. I queried it and they said it was a fuel filter in one thing but it’s the same spec as the oil filter in the plant I was fixing so they sent it. I checked and they were correct. In most cases the filter pressure relief valves are in the filter housing bolted to the engine, most filters do have a built in rubber flap type anti drain back valve incorporated. If the seal diameter and thread is correct I would go for it, we have been using a ford 1.6 litre diesel oil filter on all of our Kubota engined kit for years.

Ironically I think it's the same thing with two of the filters on my 2CX, I think the transmission filter is the same spec as a similar sized fuel filter.I can’t remember on what, so this post is semi irrelevant, but I ordered a oil filter for something once and it came with fuel filter written on it. Edit just looked it up and it’s a Clarke forklift. Don’t remember what the filter was out of. It was fuel in the forklift not as above. It was a while ago
theres an oil bypass built into filters too , incase of total blockage or very cold oil in some circumstances . Usually just a spring that upsets the seal round the filter medium its self.In most cases the filter pressure relief valves are in the filter housing bolted to the engine, most filters do have a built in rubber flap type anti drain back valve incorporated.
