Bit of a long shot, but i read something ages ago about a 61 series thay was acting up, (reverse, dynashift) turned out it was the seat had no air in and nipped a wire underneath it.
Might be worth having a look just incase.

Ok, problem solved...
Same this afternoon...
Kind of was trying to play up this morning, but hoofing the clutch pedal seemed to sort it.
Then after a huge lunch, back at it, it wouldn't go forward this time stuck in reverse.
Then it dawned on me.
You have to put the clutch in between forward and back.
Pulled off some panels and found this switch, clutch sensor switch.
Wasn't popping out.
Leatherman pliers, pulled it out, back in business. Squirt of lube oil.
Springs on its last legs, will order a new switch.
Happy to have solved that one!

Tractor won't go into reverese, this afternoon,
So, I pull out the new, replacement part for the failing switch.
And what happens?
It smokes, and starts melting.
Unplug battery, find old switch, tap old one, continue using that one.
My colleague asked if I wired it up wrong, and I said it's a switch.
Rubbish switch I guess. The burning smell and smoke gave it away.
I think this tractors being stubborn.
