Some progress, after the bore I made a mandrel and turned the taper. It took a good few hours on my lathe with the tiniest of cuts each time. Polished up to 320 grit.

Cheers, I'd like to take the credit, my boss does the programing, I do run it sometimes, but mostly do heat treating and put the handles on. The tornado is amazing, I love watching it, I couldn't believe how quick it was the first time I saw it.

The Chiron is a mill, that is a lathe. I do have a CNC lathe as well though

Probably forged bar and in annealed state. Not yet precip hardened?
