hi guys,
The torch on my Clarke Mig 160TM self destructed a long time ago, and has gotten progressively worse.
I was given a used, Almost new, torch plus the hose from what may have been a Sip by Scottie for postage, till now I did not need to try make it fit, but the truck is now disassembled to the point where I can start welding, and I bought a fresh bottle of gas tonight.
I tried to undo the screws inside the welder, ahead of the wire feed where the hose comes into the body, but it seems they just turn and turn.
I was hoping to see if the replacement hose and torch could work on this welder, deity them looking a bit different to the schematic in the owners manual online, which I did look at.
So the question is, do I need to screw around elsewhere on the welder, or should I buy a new torch and fit it?
When I start cutting and welding on the truck, and there is a lot of it to come, most is visible, so I want to try find the most sensible, and potentially successful way, and this includes a torch that does not fall apart and self destruct every few minutes.
Did I mention that I am no welder I do better at making tea.
Thanks for any advice in advance.
Rian.
