Too much fakery around unfortunately, I buy Millers oils and fluids now usually via Opie oils. So hopefully I’m getting the products I’m paying for.
The Mannol prices did seem just a bit too cheap in comparison to other brands.

I suppose it depends on the age of the vehicle you are tipping the oil into, a lot of the cheaper oil suppliers are knocking out older spec API oil surpluses. It may not be suitable for brand new vehicles but its probably overspec for anything five plus years old.

Really ? In a warehouse and would have to do each individual container ? Would take ages, AND if done manually buy someone in a hurry, labels would be crooked a lot of the time.
Fanfaro and Mannol have different colour containers too.
I don't doubt this goes on, but more likely to be small time operations like Westway, Smith & Allan etc.
I usually only buy Smith & Allan or Mannol/Fanfaro. Not had any problems. YET.
The problem with oils though, is that you really can put anything in anything, and it will work. Not many will cause instant failure, but unless its obvious like smoke etc, will cause quicker wear or failure over time.
You can even put water in a brake system ( have) to get you home if it were vital !

Some 60 years ago I worked in a garage that had a forecourt with petrol sales. There was a rack with Castrol bottles of oil, usually 30, 40,or 50w . Customers would often top up or ask us to and were charged Castrol retail prices. End of day the empties were refilled with a local ( name withheld) oil suppliers product that cost far less than Castrol. Same on servicing, even to the point of loosening the drain plug and tightening up so oil appears to have been drained and just topping up on gearboxes and back axles. Charged full price again for Castrol.

Was probably more worth the while back then. plus you were not doing that many in the grand scheme of things. Oil was relatively more expensive then compared to now.
