Unless I've missed it, we don't have a thread celebrating/commiserating the sort of self-inflicted stupidity that's common to workshops across the land.
For my part, I trashed a CGMT insert earlier, by forgetting to remove the hardened set screw from the aluminium pulley I was boring out.
Made worse by the fact it was power feeding at 0.48mm/rev & 3200 rpm using the feed trip, so each pass took about 2 sec giving absolutely no chance to react, mangling (but not irretrievably) the boring bar it was on too.
