what discs do you recommend? for 2-4mm steel? My only Milwaukee purchase was a 115mm angle grinder. Worked OK but didn't last long. 2 years or so, not used professionally, but still quite a lot.
Compared to the Black & Decker I had years ago when I did use it professionally, which lasted 20 years. Bought a Bosch to replace that, which didn't last either, then a Hitachi, which was fine for five years until it was nicked, then the Milwaukee. Never had a Makita one, but do have other Makita tools that I am very happy with.
Since then I gave up on "proper" branded stuff. Einhell, bought 2016 works fine, but stupid safety switch as just failed. Energer, cheap thing, got a similar switch which is temperamental.
Rescued a Metabo one from the tip about a month ago, after cleaning up is working fine. Impressed with the build quality too.
Don't like corded angle grinders as they are sh*te, all I have used, lack power and blade speed, and endurance. I do concede that in SOME instances battery is handy and practical, but by and large, I will have corded. IMO battery tools are like the kings new clothes, and too much faffing about.
My 115mm Einhell will cut 15mm plate no problem with a 1mm disc, obviously not as quick as 3mm, so IMO the OPs problem is the discs.
Also got two 230mm angle grinders, One a Dewalt, and the other a very cheap Black Rock thing. Both have used a lot for cutting stone concrete and brick. Only difference I can tell, is that the cheap on has more slop in the gearbox![]()
