Makita Orbital Sander, pad fail, what glue?

This was new last autumn, and it hasn't had a hard life. I thought I could rely on a Makita sander being half-way sensibly screwed together. My bad!
Also, the detached bit flew off at a rate of knots, and hit my mate in the b@llox
The backing pad has failed, it was held together with expanding foam! Whose bright idea was that?
I need to glue the broken bits together asap, it's Sunday, and we are in the middle of a job.
No chance of buying a spare part, locally.

What glue will work, without dissolving the expanding foam? BnQ is open. Muchos appreciados for glue recvomendations

Doubt b&q will be open on Easter Sunday, they aren't usually, classed the same as Christmas Day. Worth a call before you set off

The idea of the foam is to reduce vibration.

I go through pads on my palm sanders at a rapid rate and maybe 2 or 3 a year on the orbital
Always order a few more as spares and keep em stocked as I use them now ..which reminds me. Used the last one before lockdown

The only glue worth trying is polyurethane (gorilla do one.)
It won't eat the foam, it also won't last but it might get you out of a hole.

If you have some, it's worth a try but don't expect miracles.

My palm sanders has festool sized pads. If I don't order online I have to cut down oversized pads and lose the extraction holes.

B&Q do a polyurethane adhesive Sikaflex EBT.
Use less than the Polystyrene if you want to retain some flexibility.
But replace the pad when you can, non makita ones will be cheaper

Yes there are 150mil Festool ones for 1/2 the price, but you lose the holes.

What's the fixing in the centre? You can buy a 150mm DA pad for about £5-6 with holes

DA oad normally have a 5/16 UNF
