Was ouside doing a wee job and both battery packs lasted less than 5 min, knackered.Anyone stripped one down and replaced the cells? Straight forward or not

Tagged C Cells. All you need is a soldering iron, some solder and a lot of patience.

Get your new cells, and copy the old assembly.

It'll take a long time to find the cell thats gone bad causing the battery to drain so quickly.

Easiest option of course is to buy a complete battery, but where's the fun in that?

Thumping them with a higher DC voltage is a very successful method of refreshing ni-cads. I have done 6 of my now 8 year old Yellow and Black Ryobi 18 volt one-plus batteries. I wasn't brave enough to try this with my new mig welder, but I did put 3 of my freshly fully charged 18 volt Li-Ion batteries in series to provide the thump. 7 or 8 stokes of the live wire across the terminals with 54 volts DC really did rejuvenated these old ni-cads of mine. ........ enough for me to sell them on!

Typical, somebody else gets the bargain. New cells I've seen are £1.60 in the good ole US of A. Won't post them though. £6 odd in this country for good ones. New pack might be cheapest

They dont appear to post to the Highlands, cant get their exclusions to open to see if i come under highlands. Bet i do, if it wasnt for bad luck i would have no luck
