Makita 18v range

I have an 18V Makita combi drill. its a cracking drill, had it a while and never had a fault. tackles everything I throw at it with ease

I also 'had' a bosch corded sds drill, but it caught fire a few weeks ago on a job shortly after drilling down into some concrete with a 14mm bit. put it down to knock the bolts in and thought I could smell burning. looked up, it was on fire...

looking at the Makita cordless sds plus 18V drill and wondering if anyone else has one?

are they as good as the 240V ones?

the makita 18v sds is a fantastic peice of kit but no one makes one the same as a main ads in terms of run time and drilling capacity. having said that i regularly use the makita at work to drill 20mm holes through 800mm of london engineering brick walls but if i have a few holes close together i get a mains one out

as above good kit but I prefer 24 or 36v for serious sds off grid

seen some bare for about £100 or so so really cant go wrong

If you can find a 36v one you can buy a genuine adaptor to use 2x18v batteries.
