I know we have a few YouTuber's on here and I'm looking for hints, tips and tricks
Most of my stuff will be around off roading and green laning as anything else will have too much swearing, I'm also not planning a presentation style, more just a video of what I'm up to. Probably easier if I put in into categories and hopefully you lot can share your experiences
Equipment:
I have lots of very spendy DSLR gear including bodies and lenses, none of which will ever be used as I'm scared of breaking it.
Currently have 2 1080p gopro copies which are actually not bad, most of my issues are user error and I'm mostly on top of them now. Storage is cheap so I will just record in 1080
I may use a CSC with an old manual lens if I can find a really good mount, I'm also looking at an even cheaper gopro copy with a remote to mount somewhere daft like in the bumper
Editing:
I like Lightworks (as recommended on here) except the free version doesn't export in 1080, which feels deliberate.
I'm looking at OpenShot but any more recommendations?
Needs to be easy to use, I'm not producing the new Transformers movie so doesn't need eleventy million things I don't understand or will ever use
Content:
I know greenlaning video's can be very dull as it's far less exciting on a phone or a laptop, I'm only expecting to get 10 minutes of footage from a day out or people will be switching off, any ideas to make it better? I could do with sticking a camera on another car or something but that means issues with batteries etc
Music:
Would they be better set to music? I generally don't have sound on unless someone is talking but I'm odd. Video below has me and Harry
Latest video, just chopped a semi exciting bit out, 720 as used Lightworks and no colour correction as it was a lot of extra rendering time without much actual benefit
Let me know what you think
