What car? What's the weight? What are you doing with it,racing or road use?
How long will the wishbones be?
Reason I ask is under cornering loads the bottom link to the outside wheel acts as a strut. As it's unrestrained both ends by virtue of the free joints the length has a great bearing on bending forces the link is subject too, similarly the tie rod has to withstand compression under heavy braking.
Suspension is a very complex area. Car manufacturers spend a hell of a lot of money developing it to suit the vehicle. Why change what they've done?

hi its for a vw golf mk1 lenght of will between 30 to 40cm shouldn't be more then that.
i would like it for road use but silly question is whats diffrences are the between ROAD and RACE use ??
the reason is im doing this is im doing a four wheel drive converstion and would like to use a set of the front hubs on the back and would like to have it nice and adjusted also i will be using the original ball joint on the hub just like on the pics

Difference is the insurance company is going to want it inspected by a vehicle engineer before you'll get cover for road use.
At a race track it's got to pass a scrutineers inspection.

Would go for 3.2mm but suggest would be better using a T45 tubing 2mm which can be sourced from www.elmdonmetals.co.uk also you will get chrome molly rose joints from here http://www.mcgillmotorsports.co.uk/ doubt you will get a better price than from Jim.

hi thanks for that 3.2mm what kind of strain will that that also im planning to flattern the pipe like on the pics and weld the plates on. thanks alot for the site on the joints im wonder whats the best way to weld the Insert/Tube Adaptor, Rose Joint would be?
By flattening the tube your knackering it basically.
Round tube is used as a strut as it has equal properties (buckling resistance) in all directions. Flatten it and it automatically becomes weaker in the flatter plane, not to mention the fact that it has been overstressed on the outer edges.
Yes it looks good like the formula one carbon fibre wishbones but they're shaped like that for aerodynamics at 200mph plus.

ya i was thinking that to but would like to be able to bolt up the ball joint like on the setup any other ideas on how i can do that ??
Use one thicker piece of plate let into the tube with a birdmouth notch. But you would possibly need stronger bolts for the ball joint as they would then only be in single shear.
You can actually buy oval tube which doesnt have the edge stresses from the flattening process. Its got a known strength the same way as say cds has.

You might be as well to ring these guys up and have a chat with them, since they can supply oval tube for wishbones along with the ends etc.

hi thanks i spoke to the them and the oval arms are two thin for road use but they can get other sizes made up when would be the recommended thinkness for an ovel one ??
