making a bush questions , materials and sizing

i need a bush made for my gearlinkage on a car , its for a stainless shaft to pivot in , no huge load , some chance of it getting grubby

what materials would suit that wont wear fast ?

second question ...its tight for space there , the shaft is 12mm diameter ,what is realisticly the thinnest wall i can have the bush that normal folk would be able to machine as im going to have to find someone that can make it for beer money

would 1mm wall be unrealistic ? so a 14mm tube with a 12mm hole inside ?

Why not use a Glacier bush, a 12mm bore will be 14 outside dia, I've used loads of them with stainless shafts, a 12mm one will cost about .50p usually

thanks i will take a look at those...didnt realise such a thing was available

are they suited to stainless steel pivots?

whats the differance between a du /dx ...thier site is broken as i write this

DU contains ptfe and lead, and needs no lubrication, DX are acetal and are supposed to be lubricated, to be honest Ive never noticed any difference in performance or longevity.
