Making a basket for an ultrasonic cleaner

It's a skip found cleaner and the basket wasn't with it.

Is there anything more to it than just bending a bit of stainless mesh to the correct shape. Research suggests that hole size varies, top hung or bottom sitting is ok too.

I did try the manufacturers but they stopped making this particular model about 30 years ago. It's ex dental so a good make I hope.

Wire mesh would be better than strips of metal type mesh. Make it so that the mesh stays off the bottom, where the transducer(s) are, to reduce the risk of damaging the transducers. Objects to be sonicated can also be hung off string, or wire, to keep them off the bottom.

Flower pot hole mesh, or flower pot grids, could also be used to keep objects off the bottom of the bath.

I’d imagine the ultrasonics would make short work of the washing

Yes, but I'd have to form the basket first, it's only a small cleaner
