Make your own belt sander?

That uses a 4" belt, you wanted one with 8" to a foot didn't you? That is a slack belt grinder or sander, linishers usually have a platen under the belt to press metal against.

I thought it looked more than a 4" belt but yes thats the type i want a slack belt sander.

if your refering to the rollers being rubber coated no there not there just steel

Has anyone got any pictures/designs on how to tension the belts? I think I've pretty much got all the parts to make on, but i'm not on how to keep tension on the belt. I've a folder of about 30 designs but none are clear, there's a bolt on a few of them, but it doesn't look connected to the roller ;-O

I will take a photo of mine tomorrow. If I forget shout at me...... Thats about all its good for now as the motor wont start up at all lol

When looking for cheap but powerful motors, jet washers tend to crap out the pumps and get scrapped with perfectly good motors. Several of my machines have recycled motors from that source. Cut off saw is 4hp. Even the little ones are over 2hp
