make at home sonic cleaning solution for oil grease and carb cleaning

as above i play with mowers strimmers and such an now got a problem with a carb

has any one got an idea or used any house hold products that will as good as job as shop bought stuff

or should i just use engine cleaner water mix ?

the unit i got is small but most of the carbs i got are small and i could turn them round a few time to get to all over

I use a mix of washing up liquid, degreaser [AutoSmart G101] and water in mine, works well enough.

For jets and brass parts ( not show items though). I use white vinegar mixed 50/50 with distilled water. Rinse well. The carb bodies, I tend to use warm water and washing up liquid. Its surprising how much muck the sonic cleaners shift.

One of the best I was told and used was:
Equal amounts of white vinegar, the cheep stuff works well, cold boiled water.
1 table spoon of washing up liquid to 2 litters of water vinegar mix.

Place item to be cleaned into a decent container, pour on mix and leave.
To help I have held a Orbital sander against the container, it seamed to help. But with out anything to compare it to I can not say if it did, as I said it seamed to.

Rinse well with tap hot water, dry well.

Buy a litre of proper carb cleaner off ebay as it doesn't contain salt.
All of the above mentioned soaps contain salt which darkens the carbs metal and causes furring in the tiny jet bores ect...
I know of karting mates who have had nothing but issues after cleaning a card in a sonic cleaner with washing up liquid ect...

thanks foe the help the mower i had not working right when i took the carb apart had oil in it looks like the last onwer put oi in the wrong hole hence not working

i cleaned 2 times with carb cleaner still no good but thanks to advice degreaser hot water and compresser for drying runs great it has gone to a mate for a new house warming present powered mower
