Hi everyone
Time ago a friend of mine that unfortunately is dead ,gave to me a middle 50's maybe middle 40's Lombardi multifuel engine
Essentially it starts on gas and it goes with whatever fuel you want after started and heated (kerosene, petroleum, gas diesel mix ,gas oil mix ,avio Fuel , cooking oil mixed with gas etc )
I got it running the past winter but ,I noticed that it gives not spark
So I've checked the magneto and the coil is worn out , doesn't make any sense to repair it isn't worth
So to try saving this engine ,I thought that I might try to put an electronic ignition coil from a Briggs and Stratton engine .
I would like to know if someone did something like that here and he can give me some advices to how to proceed in this conversion
Ps
It's a 4 stroke engine
I could use a 2 stroke coil and the plated points to shut off the sparks when not required
I have to use the points in any case because it's the only way to phase this engine
Thanks for your time
