I can't help thinking it could play havoc with Wi-Fi like tin foil lined plaster board can.
would a hand full of iron filings into a tin of pollyfiller do the same thing ?
no just messing ,,, but the mesh idea was serious , coat of pva or waterproof paint over the top , use galv sheet if you were getting iffy about the moisture or coated perf , like speaker grill...No. Maybe nickel but not iron. Pollyfiller is too porous and the iron would rust up.
Not sure if it was a serious question though.

It has a date on it.One possible concern -
Old gypsum is no good to work with. Shop turn over of a specialist product like this may be low. Id be concerned that the bag may have been hanging about for a while.
