Magic eyes

Got a few smallish profiles to do for myself, Only a couple each of a few different things. Cant be bothered to draw it out with the pen... dxf isnt an option.

Black ink, from inkjet printer, anyone know if that works....?

Or i will need to get them drawn out over the w/e.

The only thing i know about that stuff is once you have it on your hands it's a pain to remove it!
What exactly do you want to do with it Hitch, please explain it to me....(hum, blonde...) do you want to make a stamp out of it?

Meths is good for shifting ink, some are water soluble.

Thats all we used to use on our old magic eye system,0.7 mm line in the best print quality you can get from your printer,some papers made a difference to how it read the line and if you have any problems with tight corners just fill in with a black marker pen .

Ideal seems so then. Saved me some time as long as it works!
The one we have now is very positive at reading the line, so should be ideal. Only used it a few times, mose of the stuff we do can be programmed from the standard shape libary

A machine that uses gas to cut shapes, pretty old fashioned. Do an outline drawing of what you want to cut, and a 'magic eye' follows the drawing, then converts to drive feed motors in x&y to flame cut the shape.

Interesting...how precise does it work? i suppose it leaves pretty rough edges right?

Not in the right hands.
If you use nice sheet and a nice clean nozzle, and setup so it cuts straight, its pretty accurate, well within 1mm if the drawings good and you have allowed for the kerf correctly.

We used to have a boc magnetic pattern profiler, Built 1954, 2 years before me!, its still in use (not by me though).

Water jet cutting's not new, modern lasers leave them standing.

me too, they'd often have one dedicated operator, who enjoyed a rolley, even guys with rolley's in workshops is in the past......
