Machine vise

I've recently bought a Fobco 7 8 floor standing pillar drill with a big slotted table and am now looking for a decent machine vise to use with it.

I'm not looking for the Rolls Royce of machine vises by any stretch, just a work horse for use with general fabrication & blacksmithing. Are there any particular brands to look out for & what's a good size to look for?

For a drill press, one that has an open centre or slot down the centre is good as you do not have to keep packing up the work to stop yourself drilling into the vice. Maybe 4 inch or 6 inch. You can hold small things in a big vice; it is difficult to hold big things in a small vice.

Something like random eBay number 273828048578. This one has the advantage that it is pre-peppered so you can always blame a previous owner for any additional features that appear.

I've got a record one, they pop up second hand reasonably priced. They knock the spots of Chinese vices.
