I want to remove the end of the motor to check if there is one of those thermal overload switches
I put the bridging wire across the black and brown wires and the planer ran normally again.
they are not touching when at rest
If they now don’t disconnect when the motor is at speed because of the washers this will also cause you problemsThe centrifugal switch is not adjustable, so instead I put two washers behind the contact plate to move it instead. The contacts seem to be in the right place now ie. they are touching
It’s a thermal fuse rather than an overload as it shouldn't be switching the motor currentIf there is a thermal overload device attached to the winding, how do I get to it. The wires are inside the woven sleeving and tied onto the winding with string. Is it ok to cut the sleeving and string? Is the overload replaceable?
