What would the most cost effective CPU to use with this motherboard.
I don't have a clue about AMD hierarchy. Lol

Best will probably be an FX8xxx Best for the dosh will probably be an FX6xxx

Look on cpubenchmark and filter by socket?

Depends what you want out of it, older Phenom II X4 black edition are dirt cheap and will still run anything you need but the FX are newer and better

just remember dont pay much for it as the board cpu is unupgradable as its am3 we are at am4

the board uses ddr3 we are at ddr4

i have the x6 cpu and memory already with no mainboard they come from a set on fire mainboard

I purchased it locally for a machine to go in the static caravan where I am likely to use all sorts but not often.
It came with the board and I think 8 meg memory for 30 quid.
He threw in a CPU but it had bent pins and he said if I could salvage it then fine if not I just needed a CPU.
Are you selling your CPU and memory then?

id bought the whole lot like you as it was local

4gb memory with mainboard and cpu and it was bios photoed at that so bought the item

just one problem the bhf heart foundation on ebay was hard to contact when you did get through they loved there generic scripts

i wanted to collect and they refused it was back end of covid and we was all wearing masks

they demanded it be paid by paypal only and there packaging was abismal from the feedback loads of gear broken from them on poor packaging

refusing any other payment method or collection

Pins are easy to straighten, run a credit card gentle down the rows and ease them back, if they're really bad use a mechanical pencil to slide over them and tweak them that way.
