My Stihl TS480i started to rev itself up and when I got to checking it over today I found that 3 of the 4x head bolts had stripped out and that was what was causing the issue
The cylinder and piston are otherwise in perfect condition so I would like to attempt a thread repair on the 3x bolts. May do all 4x when at it.
In terms of a budget friendly DiY kit something like this?
It is an open hole so I guess thread lock the helicoil into place then leave to cure and snap off the tab.
Or I have seen these solid type inserts may be a better job if there is enough meat to drill and tap M8:
