M300 feed lever rubber boot

As a quick experiment I tried making a temporary rubber boot from an old inner tube. Probably butyl rubber and not oil resistant. Works fine though! Nitrile rubber would be a good choice. I may see if I can get a small offcut.

Just do without cream cakes for a week if £18 is too rich for the correct part, cost you more in lost oil by the summer.

Short term it might work, but I seem to remember from my days fixing cycles that oil makes butyl inner tubes go hard and brittle. Best not to top up the apron with too much oil!

Very interesting. I just had a quick online as I didn't realise TPU filament existed.
