Since I've fitted the VFD to the M300 I've started to use more it more.
I needed a carriage lock so, machined a top for the stock bolt used to lock the carriage to the bed.

As the pictures show, when not in use it faces to the rear of the lathe, a single 90degree turn locks in place.
Draw bar is 303 SS. And you can also still get a 17mm spanner underneath if necessary

Nut autogenously welded 316 bar to the high tensile 12.9 bolt.
