Evening all,
My brother has just had me scratching my head and wondered if any of you lot know the answer???
So, he works at a place that builds and install modular buildings and is currently installing 8 buildings (4 on top of 4) down in Stafford and the H&S guy onsite has asked what weight can the bolts used in the side of the building take before they shear.
The bolts are M20 x 200 8.8 and run horizontal through a box section leg. The box section must have some sort of lifting eye on it (sorry, didnt think to ask my brother) and the bolt will be taking the weight of the building once suspended in the air.
Each modular building weighs circa 8 tons and they will be lifting two at a time (one on top of the other so 16 tons)
He is having to spend the evening trying to get the answer for tomorrow but thought id try help him out
Thanks
