M14 x 1.5 LEFT HAND tap..

bit of a long shot but does any of you lovely gents on here have access to 1????

i`m currently remaking my steering arms to use rose joints on the outboard end (the rose joint is 5/8th UNF and getting an insert was on off the shelf affair) but i`m wanting to retain the peugeot inboard joint and its proving to be a bit of a rare size...

i`m yet to find a price from tracy tools for a tap but dont really want to spend ££££ for 2 tiny inserts...

i need 2 threaded bushes.. 25mm long.. 22mm o/d and threaded thru in EN8 mild steel to weld inside the tube....


i`m running out of local machine shops to try.....

will call them in the morning... i have a feeling i`m going to have to have 1 as once the inserts are welded in they`ll need running thru again...

wyn- yup... theres some on ebay at the minute for that sort of price.. which is a bit steep considering i only have 2 inserts to make...

its probably due to the cheap crap my work used to get but i`m not a big fan of carbon steel tooling...

if u get a good make eg dormer presto ect there ok as long as u are not cutting hard steel and lots of it

I thought I might`ve been able to help and had the tap in question; I went out to the workshop last night and had a root; but it was a M16mm x 2mm LH set I`ve got....another 99p. eBay "one day I`ll need it" item.
