They are all Fuel tools.
It’s rare that I can’t get into a bolt with the 1/2 and when I do it’s usually too tight even for 3/8 so use an extension or universal joint.

On the BMW changing to summer tyres and one of the wheel bolts wouldn’t come off. It had been serviced not long before it. I posted on here about it.
Stubby failed so got the big torque out and that broke the socket. Tried a standard impact socket that was a bit tight so used the breaker bar and snapped the swivel head off that. Standard socket on the big impact gun eventually got it off and produced a lot of heat in both the socket and bolt, I was surprised it didn’t shear the bolt.

I have the dewalt 1/2 and i just put a 3/8 adapter end on it as its the pin model instead of the spring and ball

I've had the problem where the socket outer diameter is too big to go in the recess but a smaller 3/8" fits.
They are listing the 3/8" tool can do the same torque of 745nm, one assumes without breaking the 3/8" square drive, I feel I am unlikely to ever need the full power of the thing - far less often than I would enjoy the convienince of 3/8" being more compact..
and the fast charger ....Adding extensions on impacts reduces the power. It may be more weight but the play and slack in the joint will have a bigger impact than the additional weight.

Save money on so called real batteries 3rd party ones much cheaper,out of the 9 i've bought only 2 have gone boobs up,they were both 9Ah jobbies,the 6 and 7Ah seem to me last,even the so called Milwaukee one suffer from the locating tabs breaking,so worth buy replacements
That cutoff tool,well,hummmmmmmmmm,sold it in the end,just doesn't have the torque so to speak,IMHO

Cut off tool has to be better than the parkside?
Otoh they do a much more expensive angle die grinder that can use 3" discs. I might hold off on that for now.
Another tool I could do with, sooner, for repairing car, is a sander. I'm thinking that may be best to get on the XGT platform.
I've just collected a replacement front wing, but its in silver and will need to be red.

Ive got a selection of m12 tools.
And use them for everything.
90 degree die grinder,
Old 3/8 impact.
Ratchet.
Dual action sander.
Impact driver.
Drill
Die grinder.
And I would replace them all again if they went wrong.
I use 2ah and 6ah batteries and they are all coming up 4 years old.
Only thing I have is one battery that occasionally doesnt make full contact.
Problem is I keep looking at the new gen stuff and have to keep reminding myself its only a want not a need!

Have the stubby impact in 3/8 (×2), long 3/8th ratchet, die grinder (x2), cut-off tool (x2), 90 degree die grinder for Rolock disks, hammer drill, 4 bank charger, probably a few more too!. My favourite on the bikes is the 1/4 M12 ratchet, really handy tool.
Use them on the bikes at work and another set for the cars etc at home.
The M12 impacts really are an amazing bit of kit.
I have bought a lot of Snap-on power tools in the past but would always go Milwaukee now for battery powered tools.

The M12 sanders are great. RO in either 2.5 or 5mm orbits, very light, 6 inch and next to no vibration. Car bodywork the 2.5 is probably best suited.

The cut off tool isn’t that powerful and trying to force it through a cut doesn’t work. It’s either shallow cuts getting deeper with each pass like you would with a router or just let the tool do the job without pushing on it.
Just used mine recently for cutting sections of tiles out of the kitchen walls to make way for cupboard end panels to be fitted. Two quick passes and perfect cut with no chipping. Also took a side off 4mm angle iron going slow in one pass.
Not a fan of cheap copy batteries though.

i got the m18 grinder thats adequate , maybe look to upgrade to that instead

I done the full Milwaukee 3/8" ratchet thing.
Compact one (slow speed)
Normal one (faster speed)
Long reach one (same speed as normal one)
Impact head one (with rubber boot).
Out of the four of them - I use the compact non fuel one and the impact one most... (but I do use them all)
(the compact non fuel one - does have a slightly smaller body)

You could likely sell your old ones on here for not much loss and get the latest.. they seem to hold value well.

M12 high speed extended ratchet, super handy tool, 4.0ah battery last ages.
M12 ratchet and extended ratchet okay but slow and cumbersome, higher tightening torque than extended high speed version.
M12 1/4 ratchet real handy fo jubilee clips in awkward places, 2.0ah battery lasts well.
All the M12 batteries charge pretty quick

No where near as powerful as an air one, but it also doesn't disintegrate discs or jar your hand when the disc jams.
Being bi-direction is also very handy, as it allows you to select if you want to spray yourself with sparks or not.
I keep looking at the new impact, probably the kit with new batteries, as my 4.0Ah batteries aren't as good as they used to be and they no longer like being rapid charged on the dual M12/M18 charger, but I keep spending my money on other things..
