I’ve got one & it’s really good. Tend to pick it up rather than an electric one.I bought a Lidl gas one and it was dire.

I do tend to try and keep an eye on the batteries levels and make sure i dont let them get too low, the makita ones can end up bricking themselves after a few times, the knock off ones dont, so would just ruin them if you dont keep an eye,May be the best of both ideas? Does it suck the battery flat? I’ve heard those adapters can’t sense when the voltage gets critical and ruins the battery?
no experience of it, just what’s been said....
I am in need of a portable soldering iron. Has anyone any experience of the above please?
Trying to limit it to the above as firstly I have Milwaukee stuff and dont want anything else, and the other choice is portasol as they're made by Weller and supposed to be the best. Plus I can buy the unit and bits off the shelf here.
I suppose it boils down to battery or gas? Anyone got any real world experience with either (or preferably both!) of the above please?
Thanks
I've now got a boot for the die grinder also have a extended reach ratchet (not pictured) to go with my normal one. I noticed gb powertools had boots this week, considerably cheaper than I paid tooGB Powertools have got the rubber boots for the right angle die grinder at sensible prices.
I had my portasol iron before my milwaukee one. The gas torch is a good iron with bits readily available.Similar to my collection. Only a couple different.
Worth knowing. That and the angle grinder are my most used I think.GB Powertools have got the rubber boots for the right angle die grinder at sensible prices.
