Hi everybody, hope there is someone here who knows anything about lpg systems..
I have a 2001 hyster 1.75 ton lpg forklift, its a mazda 2.0 8v ohc engine.
Its hard started , slow to gain rpm without load, and stuttering, the compression and ignition are ok.
Ran it yesterday on ether! Sounded good no knocking got the rpm up , so i am going with a fuel problem.
The gas drum is full and this problem had started on the last one , so im not out of fuel
There are two regulators one next to another before the gas is piped in a 1" hose to the trottle body
The first reg is just a pipe in , pipe out , there is brand markings and warnings on it but not much else.
The second reg has a button on the side, gas in and gas out, coolant in and out and a vacuum hose to the trottle also.
There is a primary pressure test port on the second regulator, if i unscrew the blank plug , there is a small port behind it, with the engine cranking there is gas flow from this but its like a quiet fart so maybe only 5psi , im thinking of rigging up a tyre pressure gauge to the port so i would know what the actual pressure is , but i dont know what the pressure should be.
If i use a vacuum pump on the vac line it should increase the gas flow with increased vacuum?
Is the coolant for cold start enriching ? Or is it to stop the gas from freezing?
Also the button on the side? If i press it momentarily while its running its encourages it to cut out!
I will post pics later after i take some
Please help before im forced to post a thread about making a petrol tank out of an lpg bottle and making a manifold adaptor for a twin choke webber
