LPG fittings suppliers 8mm.

It seems that these fittings are not an off the shelf purchase like 15mm. Is there anywhere recommended for these parts please?

I need inline isolators (2), a barb adapter to a tee joint, pipe clips and a test point/isolator for hardline mounting.
The cooker has an inline joint at the back of the heatshield and a copper pipe coming through a jagged hole at a steep angle from it, which I need to replace as the pipe is damaged. This pipe is then coiled to allow the cooker to be pulled out. It would be nice to find a better method of feeding the cooker.

I think I read in the handbook that copper olives are mandated, rather than brass.

Be wary - you're not allowed to use gas hose. The 'big loop of pipe' is the accepted method.

Not sure of the details in the BSS these days, but you **may** be able to use a crimped, braided flexible connector, but it could be that this is only acceptable if the cooker is in a gimbaled mounting.

8mm or 5/16" fittings are readily available.

Screwfix sell 8mm gas isolation valves (there is a similar style with a mounting foot if you look at ebay, etc.

I'd have another look around for a test point (your inspectors comments didn't inspire confidence), but these are also available on ebay, etc as compression fittings.

(Just need to make sure you're getting copper olives, which you should do, as these are gas fittings).

I'd strongly recommend fitting a 'bubble' leak detector for peace of mind - allows you to confirm the gas-tightness of everything whenever you feel the urge.

*Just in case you haven't twigged, the big deal with LPG on boats is that it is heavier than air, and there is no low level ventilation (cos the water would come in ) so even a small leak can result in a build-up gas in the bilges, waiting for any excuse to go bang.
