Lotus eleven chassis

Just thought some of you may be interested in this new chassis i have made for my 1956 lotus eleven The one underneath is an Alexis formula junior i repaired shed was pretty full its always the same getting on with my own stuff then someone wants a major job done

is that gas welded ? or tig

The Alexis was bronze welded
The eleven is gas as original

Done a few over the years, they are fun to do

This is what i bought still work in progress the chassis was done over last winter by 11 am the shed was warm with cutting and welding

spot on this is the car at sebring after it crashed and caught fire got a lot of work on ali paneling i will have to get back into gas welding ali as tig cracks when you try and work it after.

nice to see a bit of history getting a rebuild
there was someone on here that's been on a course metalworking alloy can't remember who it was
no doubt someone will come up with a name course is not cheap though
