Doesn't rule out someone pinching it from the shop, our local drop of place for P2G they are all on a shelf/pile in the public side of shop so anyone could get them.

i would assume that must be rare to nick a parsel yes if its in the system and the person delivring it has an idea whats in it then yes
but a parsel on a side in a shop with loads of cameras around ( cant see any shops not having cams these days)but could happen most lightly is a person nicks a parsel over 70 percent of the time i expect it to be worthless to the person nicking it in that case

I always think it's dishonest in that -

If I send an item that gets lost, and it's insured for £20 and provide a receipt that shows £10, then I get £10.

But if I show a receipt that shows £50, I get £20.

It's just a get out clause. I can accept not getting £50 if the job is insured to £20 (but, really, why should I be insuring someone else's incompetence anyway?) but if the cover is in place to £20 then why should I argue the value?

It's not like over insuring a car and pushing it off the side of a dock. The customer has zero control over which packages they loose.

Anyway, you will waste more than £20 of time trying to fight them.

The person on the end of web chat does not care. They just want the bit of paperwork as that's what the computer requests of them.

If you supply them the paperwork, replica receipt or original, they will process the claim and you can stop thinking about it.

How do you take them to small claims? Unfortunately we bought the hamper and stupidly didn’t keep receipt. They are requesting proof of purchase! I just want my £20 compensation and the cost of the postage back.

Its fairly straight forward. Bit of form filling, few emails back and fore then if it gets to it, they get an intermediary (another civil service drain on resources, but we wont go there..!!) to ring you when it comes to thrashing it out.

I had some tips from another forum member on here when I filed mine. Its not very difficult or taxing time wise really. Just fill it in, forget about it until they get in touch.....what have you got to lose? apart from your item? if you've got a good case you get your fees back plus the coverage for the item..................that's what got me about mine? it would have been cheaper for them to pay up? But like they do in 99% of cases ignore you hoping you go away and pocket millions in unpaid claims.....

Im not one of these "let it go as its only a couple of quid".............its why in my opinion we are stuck with shoddy service like this and lots of things which get on my ####...................that's why these companies extract the urine when it comes to customer service and delivering, literally in this case on what they promise

Key is, just assume its a lost cause, don't get too worried about it, don't lie awake thinking about it, put it all into perspective then when it works out its very satisfying, a) getting your money back, b) putting one over on the company c) not giving them anymore business in the future!!.........Ive not used Herpes since then, so probably all in all, as Ive shifted quite a bit during this year through various clean outs, cost them well over a grand!!!........plus the extra they paid me for the claim

ive took a parcel this morning sent using same as brad but I chose hermes they give me a card with the tracking number
