Lost DHL Parcel

Sent a DHL Parcel on 11th December, never got there.

Booked through parcel2go with £20 of cover (contents worth £35 plus it was a Christmas gift)

I’ve rang numerous times been given dodgy email addresses, been put through to premium rate lines, promised a manager would contact me, numerous bull crap.
I’ve rang about 5 or 6 times since we realised something was up with the delivery. It never got scanned out of the parcel shop.

What can I do?

I’ve put a claim in with dhl via email and got a bounce back, wrong address, so I’ve changed the email slightly to see if it goes through.

I’ve put a claim through with parcel 2 go and apparently that will take 7 days.

will never use DHL again they’re as good as parcelfarce.

Brad,
Pursue Parcel 2 go as this is who you paid and therefore who your contract is with. Get them to do the leg-work and try and find out where your parcel is. If the parcel never got out of the shop where you dropped it off then they need investigating by Parcel 2 Go and if proved then is effectively theft.
Above all, don't let them get away with it. They must be racking the money in due to the current situation.

As Mike says, you paid P2G so they are the responsible company. I had a similar issue some time ago. You need to point out to them in no uncertain terms that your contract is with them, and only them.

Yeah, P2G have effectively subcontracted the job to DHL.

When it became far too difficult for TNT to collect an urgent parcel for 3 days, P2G were quite helpful in resolving.

As above, you will get nowhere with DHL - the booking agent is their customer, not you.

Id suggest that its likely that DHL will not even be underwriting the loss themselves, and its all down to the booking agent.

Really, DHL may be the ones to ask as to the location, as the booking agent probably wont care too much, but regarding compensation, its the agent that you want.

Booking agent will ask for copies of the original invoice. Which can sometimes get odd, so just warning you in advance...

All the networks are beyond maximum capacity and have been for months.
Staff randomly calling in saying they can't come in due to covid. The preparation for EU customs paperwork and the huge upsurge in online shopping due to covid has created a perfect storm for the logistics industry. And thats without the usual Christmas struggle.
Challenging times to say the least.

I had this problem and luckily it eventually turned up late. This was with UPS my prefered carrier, made the mistake of going vis P2 Go, all they wanted to do was to reimburse to the default uninsured value of around £20, absolutely no interest in tracing, investigating with UPS.

It doesn’t help you Brad but we’ve had the same - son booked a delivery to me through P2G, dropped it off at collection point but DHL say never received it.

cant you chat to someone brad I had it the other week I took a parcel left at the post office using parcel force next day a knock at the door damn postmaster brought it back to my house saying arms might catch the conveyor the currier wouldn't take it but it was showing up as on route with a tracking number so I got onto them and I got my money back but I managed to talk to someone and not a damn robot its a pain in ass I know

They’re no help mate spoke to them 6 odd different days multiple calls in a day!

I don't use parcel2go now since they ripped me off on a damaged welder, likewise I don't use Interparcel after they returned a parcel from France and charged me more than it cost to send there.
I only use UPS now, bit more expensive but if you have a problem you are dealing with the courier themselves.

Doesn't rule out someone pinching it from the shop, our local drop of place for P2G they are all on a shelf/pile in the public side of shop so anyone could get them.

Learned the hard way ............if its valuable or worth claiming for then I use the company direct or Royal Fail. Using 3rd party couriers like Parcel2go, Parcel monkey etc just a complete ball ache when it comes to problems. As you are finding out. Dealing with the companies direct isn't much easier but at least you are not dealing with a third party?
I also avoid my herpes, even though they are direct, but the delivery person at the end of the chain if it gets there................a complete lottery. I took them to small claims this year over a "destroyed" £30 item..........................cost them £65 in the end
Hope it sorts itself out, nothing more infuriating!

How do you take them to small claims? Unfortunately we bought the hamper and stupidly didn’t keep receipt. They are requesting proof of purchase! I just want my £20 compensation and the cost of the postage back.

Would it be a fraudulent or dishonest claim if you displayed the true and truthful value using a replacement receipt?

Noone is going to get forensic over a £20 claim.

They accepted your 'order' for delivering an item up to £20 value and didn't ask for site of the purchase receipt then so just be blunt and tell them to stop prevaricating and find the parcel or refund you. Would possibly have been different if you had paid for some of their extra insurance but since you didn't, think they should just get on with it. Do you have a receipt from the shop that you dropped it off at? Normally now done via a message to your mobile. If so, it proves that you have delivered the parcel to their appointed agent and the ball is firmly in their court to sort it out.
